The scheduler currently differentiates between weighted slot picking and one shared non-weighted alternating path. Older channel values like Strict Chronology or Marathon map to the same legacy non-weighted behavior here.
The scheduler first chooses a category by its weight, then chooses a slot inside that category using the slot's existing weight. Slots without a category use the Uncategorized bucket with weight 1 unless you define an uncategorized category below.
Marks guide programs as new when Plex metadata lists a release date from the last 7 days or up to 14 days ahead.

Smart Features

This channel keeps its own programming brief, operating mode, cooldown policy, and semantic preferences. The global master switch must also be enabled before scheduler ordering can apply.

Saved brief: Noir Network aims to deliver a consistent, feel-good viewing experience centered on popular Black/African-American sitcoms and comedy revivals. The tone should be lighthearted, nostalgic, and highly entertaining, appealing to an audience that enjoys familiar comedic structures and ensemble casts. Pacing should remain brisk throughout the dayparts, utilizing the weighted slot system to maximize viewer engagement across all available time blocks. Content priorities must heavily favor high-weight shows during prime viewing hours (Evening to Late Night). Mid-Afternoon to Early Evening should feature a mix of strong performers, balancing the weightier sitcoms with others. Guardrails require strict adherence to the configured dayparts. The scheduling must utilize all available active shows within their respective time blocks. The overall mix should feel curated to maintain comedic momentum from early viewing through late night.
This executive's mode is independent of every other channel. Advisory mode never changes scheduler ordering.
Only this channel can bypass slot item/time cooldowns and the cooldown-derived immediate same-show guard. All other scheduler safeguards remain enforced.
Scheduler rule bypasses (active modes only)
Ignore slot max_picks_per_20_items and max_picks_per_playlist limits.
Ignore day-of-week and daypart-gated slot eligibility checks.
Ignore time-of-day blocking and date blackout rules.
Optional behavior controls
Ordered Shuffle, Strict Chronology, and other sequential modes always remain scheduler-owned. Explicit slot overrides can only affect normal Shuffle ranking.
Avoid abrupt changes between light, warm, serious, dark, and intense programs when cached profiles are available.
Prefer a smoother energy curve instead of jumping sharply between low- and high-energy programs.
Higher values allow transition preferences to reorder more of the normal shuffle ranking.

Use soft boosts, strict holiday-only windows, or full seasonal takeovers with custom date ranges and keyword sets.

New Release Prioritization Boost

Automatically prioritize newly released episodes based on their release date, and target premium slots with custom time or day-of-week rules.

This channel is using the Global New Release Boost Preset configured in Settings. Changes to global presets will apply here automatically.
Episodes released within this number of days, or future-dated by Plex up to 14 days ahead, will be considered newly released.
The newly released episode will be prioritized until it has played this many times.
Max plays of a new release per day (0 for no limit).
Bypass back-to-back same-show restrictions and slot cooldowns to allow rerun frequency.
Throw new episodes out of order in sequential slot modes (e.g. strict chronology, ordered shuffle).
No custom rules configured. New releases will run at any time of day on all days.

Dayparts & Special Events

Named Dayparts
Create reusable day/time windows like Weekday Morning or Prime Time. Slots can attach to these later instead of carrying their own duplicate time rules.

Special Events
Special events temporarily favor or focus slots that share matching event tags. Add slot tags like halloween, movie-night, or sitcom-marathon from the slot editor.

Advanced Scheduling Rules

Prevents the same show from playing again for X slots.
Prevents the same show AND season from repeating too quickly.
Blocks specific episodes from re-airing for X days.
Limits total appearances of any single show in a 20-item window.
Limits how many mini-marathons (2+ eps) can appear in 20 items.
Master switch for Season 0 content.
Hard-block Season 0 even if specials are allowed.
When enabled, Season 0 episodes stay eligible even if slot season filters would normally trim them out.
Movie Programming Rules
Limits total movies picked in one run. Set to 0 for unlimited.
If disabled, a movie slot will be blocked if the previous item was also a movie.
If disabled, all slots will ignore their "Window Start/End" times and play whenever picked. Turn this on to enforce specific time slots.
If enabled, the engine will ignore weights/cooldowns to prevent crashes when rules make scheduling impossible. Disable this for strict weight adherence.
If enabled, you can balance slot weights separately for each defined daypart in the slot manager. Unconfigured times will fall back to general slot weights.
